PM’s First Granddaughter Returns Home After Graduation

PHNOM PENH: Prime Minister Hun Sen's first granddaughter returned to Cambodia on Thursday, 8 September 2022 after completing her final exam in France.

Prime Minister Hun Sen made a post on his official Facebook page on the evening of Thursday, 8 September, announcing that his first granddaughter had not returned to Cambodia since 2019 due to the Covid-19 pandemic, therefore his first granddaughter has not yet had the chance to meet her sister, the 22nd granddaughter.

The Prime Minister wrote, "Wait to see how long they need to get to know each other because the 22nd granddaughter is too young, just 20 months old."

The Prime Minister's eldest granddaughter went to study in France. During the Prime Minister's visit to Hungary in June 2019, his granddaughter visited him and was allowed to accompany him while he paid a courtesy call to the President and Speaker of the Hungarian Parliament.

Prime Minister Hun Sen stated at the time that this was to let his granddaughter know how the country's leaders work.
